Let's set the record straight. Parents of underprivileged children are NOT in this forum! They are NOT the ones who said to get rid of AAP and TJ. You know who you are and be honest.
The School Board has heard testimony from parents of FARMS-eligible students expressing regret they can't afford the extras for their kids that would make them more attractive TJ candidates. But please keep ignoring their voices and pretending that 2.0% FARMS TJ is full of low-income families too proud and self-reliant to accept assistance. The rest of us know better.
When did FCPS become the let’s educate all the FARMS and ESOL to the detriment of everyone else? I pay my god damn taxes to educate my kids and all FCPS wants to do is focus on those that don’t pay in as much at all. I have no problem with more diversity in AAP or TJ but only if standards aren’t dumbed down to make it happen.
