Sounds good. Now stop whining too. You signed up for your job. Most of your health peers are furloughed. You don't have a shortage of ventilators. Hospitalization rates are falling.
Hosp rates in the DMV are not falling, you jabroni. They haven't even peaked. My furloughed peers aren't trained for this and thus are protected. See how that works? Now kindly take your profound lack of respect and go pound sand. OP, I'm off this thread now but tell your husband we're all right there. None of us are sleeping. Just hug him and be there. It means a lot.
Hugs to you, PP. Hope you sleep soon. I'll add that I'm the pediatrician from earlier in the thread, and I am not trained for this, and I did not sign up for this, and I am still doing the retraining and standing side by side with my adult medicine colleagues, because they are getting killed my this (metaphorically, not literally so for (yet, but they are testing positive and down for the count. Someone needs to see the patients and write the orders). I'm the POPCoRN rep for my site -- Pediatric Overflow Planning Contingency Response Network -- which is a national collaboration of non-internal-medicine providers trying to figure out how to support our colleagues and address the needs of our community. Before you ask or insinuate, I don't need to do this. I almost never have time off and have 300+ hours of leave in the bank as a federal employee. I could say sayonara for the next 8 weeks and not have a dent in my paycheck. But I won't. And though I can't help it that some PPs have shitty doctor friends, that's a reflection of who they chose as friends, not the bulk of us.
