Today’s Washington Post - Health & Science Section: “If your head is the only part of your body not covered, you will lose a lot of heat during the winter.” — Ken Zafren, MD, Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center Why do people want their children to get cold, and sick? The article goes on the explain which hats are best, and recommends a gaiter or infinity type of scarf, which can’t fall off or get caught in a car door.
Hahahah. That is an article by consumer reports that wants you to know they rate hats. And they make no connection between being cold and getting sick. Sucker.
Exactly. Makes no connection between this and getting sick. And you know what? Losing heat is a good thing if you are overheated. I'm a pediatrician, and we always have a rash (heh) of babies and toddlers brought in with rashes during the cold months. It's called prickly heat in some places, and more technically miliaria, and it's from being overbundled. Those kids would have benefitted from losing some heat, not suffered.
