Meghan is both the designer and the founder of the capsule collection.

It's actually an ingenious three-way split.

One-to-one = for every outfit sold, Smart Works (her patronage) will get a duplicate outfit to give to their clients.

Sale costs and profit = if the outfit is sold for $100.00 (to make this easy) - the retailer gets a 40% cut of profits, so they keep $40 plus taxes.

That leaves 60% left to go back to the manufacturer (and designer = Meghan) as profit. That 60% will probably be split 30/20/10. 30% or $30 to cover the production cost of the outfit and a double for Smart Works. 20% to the Sussex Foundation. 10% to administrative/transportation costs.

This makes no sense. Profit does not equal revenue. And I don't think profit margins are 60-70% on clothing, try more like 10-20%. And where is Misha Nonoo in this example? M&S, Misha, Jigsaw, and perhaps Meghan will be sharing whatever is left. The VAT rate alone is 20%. I'm not following the argument that Meghan is going to be making bank on this venture if that's the point.[/quote]
