It is called travel soccer, Barca must be doing cartwheels now.
FCV girls will go to Loudoun and other local options. Barca will probably get the Loudoun Gray team kids that are displaced down the chain.
FCV girls will NOT go to Loudoun - not the DA girls. Loudoun has a long way to go to be competitive. Why move so far down the soccer ladder just for a shorter commute to some of the practices?
This may be the dumbest thing I’ve read here. If the top 4 or 5 girls from FCV da in any age group went to Loudoun they’d immediately become more competitive. Where do you think half the FCV da girls came from in the first place? They could also play for a stable and closely located club. But hey, do what you think is best. Enjoy the traffic, the FCV da kool aid, and your $15 hamburger.
Ive been saying this for years. Why do people fear leaving a club like FCV if their player really is as good as they say they are. Talent shines any and everywhere.
Yet, the players in Loudoun's back yard won't play there? Hmmmmm. Maybe because Loudoun's staff doesn't develop players, just collects U-little trophies.
FCV long benefitted from Loudoun developing players. Until ECNL came along. Then they crumbled and lost.
You're kidding yourself if you think Loudoun develops players. Loudoun started doing Futsal when --- last week? Laughable.
You’re not developing players if you’re not playing futsal said no one ever.
So Loudoun has these kids from pre-academy all the day through U-12. FCV sweeps in takes them. How in the world do you mean Loudoun doesn't develop players? If they didn't, why would FCV come and take them then? You do realize development has to start at young age.
My kid learned more in one year at a subsequent club than for four years at Loudoun at those ages. “Development” at Loudoun consists of picking the biggest and fastest players and placing them on the highest team possible. I’ve seen players at Loudoun jump multiple teams because they were super tall. Or super fast. Skill was not a consideration in those cases. That’s not to say those with incredible skills weren’t elevated, but those promotions took longer. Many of the kids who did get better while there were also heavily invested in third party or one on one training outside the club. Anyone who promotes the narrative that Loudoun “develops” from u9 to u12 is not giving an experienced and balanced view.
