There's a lot of land around Francis-Stevens (including a parking lot, and a field) that could be renovated into the new Western High School. Or it could retain its middle school as part of an "education campus" with middle/HS offerings. Hardy could feed right into the new Western campus. If Hardy were taken out as a feeder to Wilson, access to Wilson from schools east of Connecticut Avenue could be maintained. Though the new Western HS wouldn't do much to ease Deal's overcrowding, unless one or two Deal elementary feeders were re-routed to Hardy.
Dumb. Just redraw lines and send students to underutilized schools. We have plenty of them. The park is not the DMZ dividing North Korea from South Korea. Students from WOTP - especially the eastern and southern portions can travel. Students in special program (I see you Adams) need to go to Roosevelt. There are no requirements that high schools be walking distance from students’ homes the way there is in elementary school.
