Congratulations but could have done without the false “woe is me my kid is a white male” attitude. Northwestern class of 2022 was 56% white.   Your kid is in the single most advantaged race/gender class in this country, even for college admissions. [/quote]

I should have added the clauses "in regular decision" and "from Montgomery County", as we had been told by everyone, including the guidance counselor, that since the ED class at Northwestern is overwhelmingly white and upper income, that RD is when school seeks to balance the class by emphasizing socioeconomic, geographic and racial diversity. OP, congratulations to your kid!! I'm a minority and I totally understood the context in which you made your original statement.   We all use shorthand on these boards, and all of us should read posts kindly and view them in the best light and tone, rather than assuming the worst of others.  [/quote]
