I am a Dem, and I wish Congress would appropriate the $5 billion for his stupid f@cking wall and reopen the government. It is just a wall. Other walls (fences, whatever you want to call them) exist along the border. And frankly, I care much more about my own ability to pay my mortgage and support my family than I care about preventing a wall. So let him win.
You're not a true Dem. You're just selfish. No on the wall.
not selfish (I responded to Dem PP shortly after.) Trump is a narc. You cannot rewire their brains. Give him the wall and let's learn and move on. I lived with a narc for many years. Trump is one of the worst narcs I've seen. You don't bully a narc. You cut your losses.
Well then, I guess McConnell needs to cut his losses and begin legislating over in the senate. The House and Senate can get together and get a bipartisan bill that could sustain a veto override. WTF does Trunp/Putin have over McConnell that makes him so afraid to go against the Don?
with the assumption that the House and Senate have reps who aren't narcs themselves and therefore, flexible and willing to bend a bit to the right and left I think most people are fearful, especially in this situation. We elect people who represent our needs and rely upon them to speak on our behalf. But as many climb, they become self-serving, entering preservation mode. Have you seen their salaries? Granted, they can't compete with Bezos. still . . . Pelosi will now earn over $200K, which is about $30K more than she was receiving before the move up. She's worth MILLIONS, however. These people don't feel financially strapped. So while they can talk the talk in public, I don't trust that they are compassionate and feisty enough to support their constituents behind closed doors. Maybe I'm too tainted. But if you look at most organizations with bloated bureaucracies, you'll see a lot of fat at the top preserving status quo. One example is the school system. Having worked at the central office level, I heard talking but never saw true action - and this from people making close to $200K. Why rock the boat when it could affect your position? I am tainted - but for a good reason, as I think we're doomed.
you mean "jaded," I think; but I get your point.
