I'm completely ready to "discuss reality." Here is what White said: “And D.C. keep talking about, ‘We a resilient city.’ And that’s a model based off the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man. Be careful.”

I'm dumbfounded that anyone with even the slightest awareness of history could suggest this is not anti-Semitic.

It is only anti-Semitic if you know that the Rothschilds are Jewish and are part of historical anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. If you don't know such things -- and it appears that White didn't -- it is no different than as if he had blamed the weather on the Smith family.

Yes, it is hard to believe that he was unaware of the religion of the Rothschilds, but I have run into other DC natives -- some quite well educated -- who also didn't know anything about the Rothschilds. You are confusing ignorance with anti-Semitism.

Moreover, White has not espoused his moronic conspiracy theory "at every public opportunity" and nor has he "doubled down on them". To the contrary, he apologized and engaged in an effort to educate himself about anti-Semitism. Given your misunderstanding of White's actions, it appears that White may not be the only one speaking from a position of ignorance.

I don't misunderstand anything. Hate speech is hate speech. Ignorance is not a justification for disseminating vile conspiracy theories, especially about an ethnic or racial group. And his behavior at the Holocaust Museum was worse than doubling down. He walked out on his tour guide after making attempts to justify Nazi barbarism. That's not "an effort to educate himself about anti-Semitism."

The Rothschilds were a wealthy Jewish family from Germany.  There has been an antisemetic conspiracy theory surrounding the Rothschilds which emanated, I believe from the Nazis since the 1930’s or thereabouts.  It is an age old antisemetic trope to blame the Rothschilds for all the bad in the world or to say thaT they control things.  Anyone who knows anything about antisemetism knows that invoking the Rothschilds name is the same as saying the Jews.  This could probably be explained better, but I gave it a shot.[/quote]

He could've said the same thing about the koch brothers and there would be No gesticulation from you , you're well within your right to draw or attempt to parallels between his blaming the Rothschild for climate manipulation and anti Semitism , but what you won't do is pretend that you have the monopoly of the truth and that there's no difference between someone explicitly saying stuff like Jews are responsible for climate manipulation or Jews will not replace us and someone blaming a bunch of wealthy who happen to be Jewish ( a fact that he may or may not have known ) for climate manipulation.

Jews are not above reproach and criticizing someone who also happens to be Jewish , or spreading conspiracy theories about someone who happens to be Jewish and anti Semitism isn't mutually exclusive . From the onset some of you decided that it was anti Semitism and were certainly not expecting to be met with vigorous counter arguments that although not necsssrily defending Mr White, sought to push back against this troubling mindset that if [b]you Jews [/b]deem something anti Semite then it must be so . So you're pissed that "we Jews" have decided it's antisemtitsm, yet you in your superior wisdom have decided IT IS NOT? So why do you get to decide?

And does it not concern you that (some) Jews find his remarks and actions offensive? For example, I once used "the" when I said "the blacks" and was criticized, soundly, for saying "the." I don't get why it's racist, because I refer to the Jews in that context plenty of times. Yet, because I was told it IS offensive, I never did it again. Why? Because I don't want to refer to black people in a way that (some at least) find offensive, even if I myself don't see that it is.

I or any level headed adult should condemn blatant racism , islamophobia or anti Semitism when it's clearly established not when a group decides or seeks to dictates  when it occurs , even if and when the evidence does NOT prove it [/quote]
