There was nothing awful in her IG prior to it being locked.  It was the same as thousands of other IG accounts.  She had photos of her dog, her family, outings with friends, trips they took.  I don’t know what the PP means about it being awful. [/quote]

+1. Some of the posters on this thread…wow. Like, oh, they went to Burning Man? Then they are, without question, drug-addicted sex maniacs with morbid depression who definitely would murder their spouse, baby, and dog before committing suicide. +1 I looked at her whole Instagram and it was like anyone else on here who leads a UMC life. Family, friends, travel. And I didn’t see any pictures of her nude or topless or even a party lifestyle. Also still waiting to hear from PP’s who allude to her brother’s Instagram and her exBF who allegedly said “I used to hit that.” Is it sexist or what that people are so focused on her, including the way she dressed at a festival, and [b]never commenting on Jon[/b]? She graduated from Berkeley and worked in tech for a long time. Yet people keep commenting on her rich husband or rich ex as if she had no accomplishments of her own. I was the one (above) who asked for clarification in regards to what the pp thought was so awful about her Instagram.

I don't know... I keep getting this icky kinda "Yoko Ono" vibe, when it comes to everyone villainizing Ellen (nothing related to the Asian component though).

Yoko Ono was villainized.
Yes, she was a strong & confident woman, yet she was also jarring & polarizing to many people.
She clearly had a compelling voice & major influence with John Lennon (as all wives should).

Ultimately though, it was his decision to leave The Beatles, yet she always was and is still now inherently blamed for the break-up.

From reading these posts, I keep getting the same blamey feeling towards Ellen... is it that people just need SOMEONE to blame?

We have so little information about them that it is ridiculous that the mom would be considered a polarizing figure. What we do have is lots of sexism, misogyny, and racism and that is certainly making an appearance here. The comments about burning man and people trying to paint her a certain way because of that are straight from 1950.[/quote]

I wasn't saying that Ellen was polarizing, I was saying that I was getting the same icky vilification of Ellen as I felt about Yoko Ono, but I couldn't put my finger on WHY people would automatically jump to doing this.

Your sexism, misogyny, racism theory makes a lot of sense though... how sad.
