He is 23 now. His journey took place just before the current social media infused gender identity maelstrom. It took many years for yo it extended family to accept them. But now, he is accepted as Joe, just Joe, not Josephine.

He has written to JK Rowling to let her know that as a big Harry Potter fan, he is disappointed to have to cancel her due to her views on trans youth being just a fad rooted in misogyny.
