I think it is unfair to characterize the statements from the AT students as "not wanting those kids in their school." They are rightfully concerned about program changes that may alter their access to courses and administration of the school with separate administrators and pathways being proposed. The county has not been clear on this throughout the short and rushed proposal process. Kids at AT give up a lot when they choose a non-comprehensive program (in areas of arts/music/sports) and it's reasonable for them to want to preserve the benefits they get. They are not asking for restricted access for Langston students (they can already take classes at ACC just like all APS students) but it is fair to want to guarantee continued availability for AT students, especially those who are in the middle of the program.
that's fine but a few pages ago people were claiming no one at AT was opposed at all, or that they would stop their opposition if langston wanted to come. and that's not what is happening at all.
No, because ppl are smarter than that. Whenever APS has tried last minute to sneak something past any votes or discussions, it has commonly turned out to be short sighted or ill-advised. Ppl asking questions is a good thing.
