I think people need to distinguish between economic and social issues. Democrats lost an enormous amount of voters in recent years with their social priorities, both locally and nationally. Restorative Justice in schools really wrecked a lot of schools because now bullies and disruptive students have no consequences whatsoever. And that's made a lot of public schools a nightmare - and I can guarantee a lot of very liberal parents are appalled by what Democrats have done in this space. And every parent remembers local Democrats closing public schools for a year and a half while allowing private schools, bars, and restaurants to remain open. Do not underestimate how pissed off people are when it comes to what Democrats did to public schools and kids. That is a huge issue. Democrats lost a lot of families there. And Democrats lost a lot of other people with their encouragement of unrestricted illegal migration. Letting millions walk across the border hurt communities everywhere, especially the working and middle class. From wage pressure to higher housing costs to demands on social services to schools to crime. Speaking of crime, why on earth are Democrats so enthusiastic about advocating for violent men rather than their victims? Another huge loss. And DEI. Everyone understands the legacy of slavery. But it's 2025, not 1925. Preferential hiring and promotions based on race is going to piss off 85 percent of the electorate. However, most middle class Americans understand the present economic system isn't working for them. Inflation. The costs of health care. Retirement. The quality of schools. And a hundred other real life issues. Trump and Republicans suck. But Democrats are so lost that they offer absolutely nothing. I mean 83 year old geriatric Joe Biden? The B team diversity candidate Kamala Harris? And now what - sleaze-ball shapeshifter Gavin Newsom? If Bernie Sanders was 20 years younger, it'd be ok. 65 year old Bernie Sanders would win in a heartbeat today. But he's 83 - too old. In the meantime, there is nothing compelling in the Democratic Party. No future Obama or anything. There is nothing about anything in the modern Democratic Party. It's just... vapor. And that makes people angry and feeling lost. This is prime time for a third party, because Democrats are an absolute failure when it comes to providing an alternative to MAGA.
I don't understand what Democrats did to schools. My one kid just graduated high school, and her experience was fine.
Omg how are people this clueless Removing advanced classes in the name of equity Keeping schools closed down for years due to COVID when many schools remained open the entire time with no issues Forcing kids to be schooled with students who disruptive and bullying Removing teaching techniques that work and replacing them with half-baked nonsense
What are you taking about? My kid took plenty of AP and DE classes. They excelled in online classes during COVID. They were never bullied. They never complained about the teaching techniques and graduated with a gpa close to 4.2.
