Wouldn't Ralph Lauren or Burberry be a better match for NCS/STA?
Ralph Lauren is such an easy pick for most prep schools, so I tried to hold it for the most classic American prep school in the conversation. Burberry is the British International School in my mind (I forgot to include it), but I can definitely see where you are coming from with it because it is Episcopal which is derived from the church of England. Obviously, both are great alternatives. I went with Hermes because of the legacy and tradition which is very old world aesthetic built on functionality that at one point was innovative, but now that they have gotten it right really has not truly veered from the classic form it built. (For those who don't know, Hermes became big in the handbag world because they were the ones to first put a zipper on a handbag to make it more functional. Prior to that, they were primarily known for horse saddles and making beautifully crafted leather goods). To me the Close is an undeniably beautiful place, but below the surface the schools have a solid functional structure. That being said I think that the reasons people criticize the Close are similar to the reasons they criticize Hermes.
