depending on what town you're in, the public schools are incredibly excellent… In some ways superior to the local privates.
Stop repeatedly pushing publics on posters who ask about privates.
Huh? I have never posted on this forum before or about this topic. I am just speaking the truth.
No one cares. No public is as good as Milton or BB&N or Fessy for K-8. Go back to Brookline or Newton.
NP. I bet Lexington public schools are way better than those!
You would be mistaken, between metco, teen pregnancy, and disciplinary issues. Also keep in mind too MA public schools are the worst pressure cookers without exmissions to justify it. The network you get at Milton is far superior, since over half the class’ parents can pony up 60k+.
Really ignorant post. Brookline and Belmont are on Harvard’s feeder school list too, public high schools. Quite a lot of parents in the public schools can pay full tuition but there’s no need to. I know some living in Boston use private high school but most suburbs are fine. METCO is a decades old program where city kids are able to be bussed into the suburbs if they aren’t happy with Boston schools. Mostly minority children which I’m surprised the poster didn’t mention. I don’t know why she’s talking about teen pregnancy like it’s 1965. Disciplinary issues are everywhere and aren’t extreme.
See above. There are no Harvard feeders. “Can” and “should” are different. If you make 500k a year you can afford a private for your child. The level of wealth at a Milton or BB&N is off the charts and much higher than what you’re dealing with at Belmont or Brookline (those families with the 8mm mansions who belong to TCC aren’t going to Brookline High). If you get pregnant at Milton, you get thrown out. If you get pregnant at Brookline, you continue with your class and show off your baby bump to other 15 year olds. It’s a joke.
