I guess we can pin this one on Doug Nelson too…
Truth. Bostick needs to own that the worst incident in Wootton history occurred under his watch, whereas Nelson intercepted issues before they happened. I think Bostick helped trash the school's reputation by not standing up for Wootton when Jamando's wife was on TV (even though she had no kids here and also is not a MCPS official). The school now worries more about a student parking in the wrong stall than academics. If he's doing this great a job trashing the school now, I can't wait to see what happens when the stress of moving to Crown kicks in. None of this happened under Nelson.
Reality is, principals cannot stop everything that goes on in a school. You have to look at the student population with this one. The lack of supervision is a serious issue but they don't supervise kids in locker rooms which is a bad idea. Jawando's wife is not relevant. She's looking for attention.
The same can be said of Nelson. Principals cannot stop everything that goes on in a school. The difference is Nelson was handling things much better than Bostick is and a much softer touch. Nelson was removed in a heartbeat then Bostick moves in and turns the whole school upside down? Wootton needs calm, not drama, or the Crown move will be a total mess.
