I only add in a few things, like a pink tablecloth for valentines. The kids love to make signs for me to put up. Like for Valentines, they all made valentines hearts with faces and legs. Instead of decorating, I spend a lot of time with themed books. I just brought out our St. Patrick's Day books. The kids love to hear Irish stories, folklore and also some cheesy ones about catching leprechauns. After that, then comes the Easter books. It's become a really big tradition now.
I do this, too. We save some of the kids' handmade decorations in a box. Basically we have a few Christmas decor bins and then one for all "other holidays." They make some additional stuff as crafts or I bring in things from the yard. Evergreens and pinecones for Christmas. In spring, it's forsythia and azalea prunings. In summer, whatever flowers are blooming. In fall, pumpkins, gourds, leaves. We own a few seasonal books but mostly supplement from the library. This month the seasonal book side table is mostly Black history and Lunar New Year adjacent. I got a couple picture books at the library but also pulled off the regular book shelf some favorites by Black and Asian authors.
This seems so forced and inauthentic. Like “Get Out” level creepy
