Parents are biggest indicators of height.
+1 Try having a kid in tackle football or basketball and seeing the craziness and obsession with kid's size and height. I knew so many parents who were average or below average in size who had large elementary school kids and they went all in on their kid's stardom because they were taller than everyone else at age 11. Every single one had a kid who peaked early and stopped growing.
Try having a kid who is super tall but has no interest in team sports. My nephew is 6’6” and doesn’t play basketball. Some kids are off the chart tall because they have a genetic mutation with other symptoms including heart defects. My nephew can’t play contact sports. I can only imagine the high school basketball coach seeing him walk down the hall trying to figure a way to make it work. Not all tall kids are interested in sports.
