Op here. She has dry and long hair to her waistline. Her hair is not greasy or smelly. I find her hair difficult to wash, comb and manage. Once blow dried after wash, her hair volume is like afro, large volume 2x her face. No matter how much conditioner I put on, they are dry and fuzzy, and tangled sometimes. She is not black and she has straight hair.
It sounds like you don’t know how to manage her hair. The first step is to cut it closer to shoulder length — she can still have long hair, but waist length is too much, especially if you’re bad at taking care of it. Also, why are you blow drying her hair??? Use a towel and let it dry naturally. She probably has wavy hair if it blows up to an Afro when you blow dry. Lastly, learn how to braid hair. If you put her hair in French braids that will protect it and still look nice. If she’s not in sports or getting sweaty, washing hair twice a week is fine. Good luck!
Agree with almost everything you say, but no need to cut the hair... maybe trim. My girls hair is not waist length any longer, but they still like it quite long... the French braids help a lot.
