The underinvestment of the NPS by the feds in the DC-area is a travesty. There are potholes that could swallow a car on the BW Parkway. The little triangle parks in my neighborhood that are federal property are never mowed. Trash cans on the mall are overflowing. Cars with out of state plates languish for years in one spot. Conversely, DC takes care of business. Grass is mowed, streets are cleared of snow, trash is picked up. Also, many of the DC homeless encampments are on federal property; the MPD's hands are tied on that one. [/quote]
