Heat index is relatively meaningless to grass.  It’s much hotter than the measured air temperature or heat index in the direct sun, which grass endures all summer.  This isn’t remarkably hot for the DC area.  It’d remarkable this is the first 95+ spell we’ve had all year really.[/quote]

It's not meaningless to the person cutting the grass. FFS one hour of work could kill you when it's this hot. Get a clue. People die in the heat all the time.[/quote]

I cut the grass on Sunday, it was hot but I was not in danger of death.
