Possibly. However, religious people keep thinking two things, one is wishful perception that other people's interest in their religion is increasing, other is simultaneous paranoia that negative sentiments about their religion are increasing. [/quote]

I'm not Catholic nor remotely interested in becoming one (I'm divorced, for starters). But what's with the panic here to deny that people are interested in Catholicism? It would only be natural for something that rises to the top of the news cycle for whatever reason (like, one pope dying and another being chosen) to prompt interest in the thing itself. Too many bigots on DCUM.[/quote]

I'm a former Catholic, not a bigot and I haven't noticed many on DCUM.  I'm very interested in hearing all about the new pope because he's American and seems like a good guy.  I think we need more good guys in high places.[/quote]
