Stewart won't need to get up to speed - she's been testifying for change before the BOE for decades, and knows the budget inside and out from her days with MCCPTA. Thank goodness for common sense, Zimmerman over Diaz, but that was too close for comfort. Montoya is a dud, but the rest of the Board will find this out as they try to work with her
The role of a Board member is completely different than that of an advocate. And she's never demonstrated any real understanding of the budget or the budget process. She's going to be completely lost when she has to actually make a decision involving balancing equities. You can't fund everything.
I assure you, Laura Stewart is more knowledgeable about the MCPS budget than Montoya or Zimmerman. She knows what needs to be funded, as opposed to the loudest squeaky wheel - talking about you Poolesville, who snuck in for renovations before Wootton, Damascus, or Eastern
You just named the two least qualified Board members MCPS has had in recent times. That's hardly a selling point for Stewart, who has never demonstrated any ability to make decisions.
