It means if someone does not accept their spot at the position your kid plays, the alternate gets an offer. That is typically how alternates work.[/quote]

No. It means you just missed the cut and were ranked #6 or #7. So if #4 declines, they send an offer to #6 and so on. [/quote]

If player A declines and the 1st alternate declines, then do they just not fill the spot? Of course not, they go down the line of every kid that tried out, so again, i don't get the point unless you want to make someone feel good about "almost making the team".

BTW, how close will they use the positions. Are they going to take 6 defenders or will they take 2 defenders and 4 middies to fill spots.

I'm surprised how much attention Maryland Select is getting.  This has not been the case in the past.  If you look at previous rosters, it's mostly been B club players with some A level players sprinkled in.  Now it looks like it's pulling from the top clubs in the area.  [/quote]
