[b]Back in the 70s (?)[/b] I think there were cars that would automatically turn off your high beams when they sensed oncoming headlights. I don't think the feature worked well and I haven't heard of it in a long time.

My personal vehicle is a 2016 Ford Explorer and the high beams are manual. I also drive a vehicle at work which is 2023 model. It also requires you to turn on the high beams manually.[/quote]
