[quote=Anonymous]So when all of the stuff going around that Taylor Swift was a Nazi and that was going viral and everyone was talking about it, it took about 10 or 12 days for them to realize it was bots. Rolling Stones did an article on it. So if it was so obvious that there was this big smear campaign, why 18 months later have we not seen much evidence other than $90,000 for Jed Wallace? If $90,000 is all it takes to take Blake Ryan and Taylor down that man’s phone must be ringing off the hook. I have no doubt he did some things to make some things go viral, but the issues that the Sony people were talking about that were epic level stupid in their words and taking her career were Blake’s own doing. Did Jed plant a story that Blake launched a hair product line in alignment with promoting this movie? No. Did Jed Wallace and Baldoni get her to market her and Ryan’s alcohol lines and name an alcohol drink after the abuser in the movie at one of the pop-up events? That was just dumb and offensive. People were having an absolute field day over the “grab your girls and put on your florals” remarks that she made for a domestic violence movie as well. Whether or not that was her idea, she agreed to do it and did it and got backlash for it and that was not Baldoni‘s fault or Jed Wallace. Add onto that the just very bad interviews and the journalist being deposed under oath saying that she had never been contacted by Baldoni’s team and that she wanted the clicks. She also released a bad Anne Hathaway video that was not nearly as bad but was anne being rude and Anne immediately issued a statement and apologized. And frankly no one’s talking about it cause it really was not a big deal. Finally, it was really clear from Blake’s text with Taylor in December that she was still feeling bad about the interview she did with Brandon where she was asked about survivors of domestic violence, reaching out to her and making that sarcastic joke about should she drop a pin and give them her location. She knew that it was super tone deaf and got a lot of pushback and she clearly was still hung up on that. That was totally Blake. What strikes me about Blake and Ryan is that they got past the point of listening to advisors. It’s just plain hubris. They ignored emails from heads of agencies, studio executives advising them differently, and Ryan just pushed back and couldn’t see past his anger and outrage, which is understandable but they did this to themselves. What struck me early on was a couple of texts that leaked from Leslie Sloan and Ryan. Leslie was just asking him what she should do. Which I get, he is her client and so she’s not going to do anything without his permission, but it just seemed like they are surrounding themselves with the yes people who do what they want and they were too close to this to make sound decisions.
