They exist. And there was a whole video of kids from Gaithersburg presented to MCPS saying don’t take our school. Wootton families done want Crown, Gaithersburg families do. Why are people on this thread forcing something that the most affected people DON’T want?  Option H doesn’t make the most sense when you consider it from their perspective.

Erasing a proven, top performing school with one that might, someday (unlikely) reach that same level of achievement isn’t in the best interests of MCPS as a whole. Only the richest part of Gaithersburg and  very few people in Gaithersburg would benefit from it as Wootton would take away majority of the seats. Gaithersburg high will be less diverse too with the richest area leaving. [/quote]

No, crown people are super rich. Certainly richer than most of Wootton. Wootton doesn’t have that many 2 million dollars single family houses and 1 million townhouses. But crown does. I’m not sure who’s more elitist. But that doesn’t mean they are ok with moving. You can’t dismiss all the valid points on wanting to keep Wootton on Wootton parkway [/quote]

Look again at Glen Hills and Lakewood Estates. Heck, even Fallsmead often comes in close to $1.5M.

Ok this is off topic but I hate comparing wallets so keep in mind that many homeowners bought their homes years/decades ago. Not the most important point but since it came up a home value today doesn’t mean that is what the purchaser paid nor that they could afford it today. And $1.5 in fallsmead? Hardly. No offense. Then look at median income levels. It is *much* higher in Wootton than even Crown. A comparison is a few pages back.
