Via TMZ: BREAKING: He's back in Los Angeles, but Lamar Odom's kidneys are failing and he may need a transplant. http://bit.ly/1M3R2q2
If so, I bet he *somehow* manages to bypass others on the transplant waiting list.
Why would you think this? Stardom did not help Walter Peyton.
I'm a PP, but not this PP. Steve Jobs, Mickey Mantle bought organs and went to the front of the lists. Big fat waste, and not fair at all.
It's entirely fine for a person / family to do an active organ search drive. The niece of a dear friend was born with bad kidneys. She received a living donation when she was a baby (from an adult family member), but then her body began rejecting it when she was about 8 years old. The family then did an extensive "search" for another kidney. I actually ended up being a very good match (the best the doctors had seen for the child), but was unable to donate for other reasons. They did find an altruistic donor and it actually set off a "kidney transplant chain" benefiting about 5 people in need.
