Did your dad leave your family because he was addicted to heroin, thus not only saddling you with abandonment issues but a proclivity toward addiction yourself? Did your mom die of cancer when you were 12? Did you lose a 6 month old to SIDS? No? None of this? Even one of these things? Then STFU about how you're so high and mighty because you would never DARE to even try a drug to escape the hell that is your life, or because you didn't know any better, or because you were genetically inclined to do so. No you STFU. I know pp upthread responded to you so eloquently and thoughtfully but I'm just going to put it out there. I have had a hard life, too. No one gets a monopoly on pain. And you know what? I never turned to drugs as a form of self-medication. Does that make me better than a drug addict? No. But the bottom line is they went one way and I chose to go another with it. [/quote]
