I disagree. I've witnessed threads and comments get deleted that didn't make sense.

The planned parenthood one, for example.  I never even noticed the first thread because I don't really care.  Jeff said he deleted that long thread because he was sick of the people discussing concentration camps. Then a second and a third thread popped up, and those were deleted too.  Those threads were a lot more detailed and nuanced, and as far as I could tell didn't have the objectionable pro life comments Jeff hated. He deleted those too.

Not to disagree with your point that I don't just delete a-hold threads, but you are wrong about the planned parenthood threads. First, given that you didn't even read the first one, I'd appreciate the benefit of the doubt that it was an a-hole thread. The second one that I locked was in Website Feedback. Website Feedback is not meant for the discussion of abortion and/or Planned Parenthood. The third one which you accurately describe, is still open. But, apparently without the anti-abortion diatribes, nobody is interested because it has dropped off the first page. My point is that I didn't delete the non-a-hole threads that were posted in proper forums.
