Are these families ignorant? Hardly; many of them have multiple advanced degrees.

So what does that tell you? The kids are happy, their parents are happy, and at graduation time, the college-bound kids go to really good colleges. And this all happens in a school that demographically resembles the real world far more than the whiter schools in the richer parts of our county. For some reason, this seems to drive some people on this site crazy. I'll leave it for the psychologists and sociologists to figure out why that is.[/quote]
