Stop obsessing over them, they won't get your kid into a college that they weren't already going to get into.  They are extremely unlikely to set them up with connections that they wouldn't have gotten through other avenues.  They are just pretty good private schools.  The NYC private school parents are chuckling about Potomac and Big 3.  Go to any top school and the population of kids from the Big 3 combined wouldn't rank top 10 as a feeder school.

Also chuckling at the idea that the moms of NYC are laughing at the moms of DC without seeing the irony that they are exactly the same 😂 and I say that as someone who prior to having kids both my husband and I did work that split our time evenly between NYC and DC and deciding which one to live in was always a conversation because we both genuinely loved both for different reasons.

Lots of great schools, we are all spoiled with our options.[/quote]
