What are the major differences and similarities between Hamilton and Colgate?
Colgate has significant Greek life, D1 Athletics, and if feels like a more pre-professional environment. It is also about 50% larger than Hamilton. If you are familiar with the other NESCAC schools you could almost think of Colgate as a slightly larger, "burlier" Middlebury. Hamilton is interesting because it is the merger of traditional Hamilton with Kenwood. Strong academics, great strengths in writing, and slightly isolated like most of the NESCAC schools. Both are great options.
Colgate seems nothing like Middlebury, which has no Greek life and is pretty woke itself, if you remember the Charles Murray situation. If we're comparing to NESCACs, I would classify Colgate as a larger, more selective Trinity with D1 sports.
