As a Wootton parent, I think opening is a horrible decision. My kid was home today so not directly impacted but their friends just got home around 8:30-9. They came home without their bags. Older students had to leave their cars at school. They have been through a trauma and need time to process it. I imagine the teachers do as well. Plus the police are still working the scene. They should wait until Weds. This is a really bad decision. [/quote]

If you read some of the old threads with incidents at other schools and talk to parents in the county with kids at other schools, you will see that teachers are asked to talk about what happened today in their classes. Do the teachers have training to lead a ptsd session? And why the F are they even asked to? This is beyond the work of day-to-day counselors. No adequate resources to conduct an atypical return to school. Is school opening to students to collect their belongings? [/quote]
