Mamdani said "he would consider keeping Tisch". It is not the same as a promise to work with her.

Re DV - you may not "want" cops to deal with domestic violence issues but when a conflict escalates, any woman will in fact want a cop, not a mental health councillor, not a social worker. NYC already spends insane amounts on mental health ($784 million, to be precise - and it is just the city, on top of the funding from the state). I think we all can assess returns on these investments and draw our own conclusions. [/quote]

He’s saying he’d consider her because she’s well regarded and connected in rich circles he wants access to. It’s not a guarantee he’ll win. Even if it’s 85%, he wants this wrapped up and promising to throw a bone to Tish is low commitment. [/quote]
