Just because there isn’t explicit or graphic proof doesn’t mean this isn’t a case of harassment. There are clear allusions to inappropriate behavior, and the environment that was created made the employee uncomfortable—that meets the definition of a hostile work environment.

We have to stop thinking harassment only “counts” if it’s over-the-top or if the victim is a woman. In this case, a male employee was put in an uncomfortable situation by a female boss. That power dynamic matters, and it absolutely shouldn’t be dismissed just because it doesn’t fit the usual narrative.

If someone in a position of authority is making suggestive comments or behaving in a way that crosses boundaries—even subtly—it can seriously affect someone’s ability to feel safe and respected at work. That’s the core issue here.

That’s not at all what this is about. The fact that he’s a man isn’t what makes his claims unbelievable. You’re awfully quick to give credence to what this guy alleges after he’s shown who he is. This alleged harassment from his “boss” happened over a year ago. A few months ago—as club contracts are being solidified—he alleges he was harassed and takes contact information from the club for families he’s never coached to announce that he’s starting a competing club and taking coaches with him. And then yesterday, once the season is over and on the night of the fundraiser, he blasts the entire travel community with his complaints and all the details allegedly evidencing this harassment.

I’m not saying there shouldn’t be an investigation of his claims, but its hard to  see this as anything other than sour grapes when you look at the timeline and the actions he’s taken that are clearly designed to try to hurt the club and poach families and coaches. [/quote]
