I love what he said after 24 hours on his feet - no food and no bathroom breaks - about beating Strom Thurmond's record for longest senate floor speech. He reminded us that Thurmond was motivated by wanting to filibuster the civil rights act from passing. Booker said he didn't do this just to beat his record. He wasn't sure how long he'd be physically able to keep standing and speaking when he started.

Booker said after the record was broken:

"Thurmond lost and the American people who fought him won. [b]I'm not here because of Thurmond's speech, I'm here despite it."

I got chills. While Booker was speaking, Trump gutted the CDC and FDA. We all need to take a note from CB and act. This matters.[/quote]
