Women and men don't think about age the same way. And men and women don't think about height the same way. A woman goes out with a man and learns that she's eye to eye with him. She's less interested than she would be if he were 4-5 inches taller. The man doesn't mind. A man goes out on a date and learns the woman is the same age (34). He's less interested than he would be if she were a few years younger. The woman doesn't mind they're the same age. Maybe this will help women understand how men view things.
Height affects how the person looks relative yourself. But age is relative: it doesn't always affect the looks. Some older women look very youthful, and younger women can look like they are 50. So if the man was initially attracted before knowing her age, it's totally unreasonable to get frustrated that she's actually older than he thought.
I met a guy once at a bar. He was mid 40s, but looked like early 50s to me. He thought I was mid 30s and got visibly frustrated when I told my actual age (one year older than him). I think that's shallow because if he was attracted enough to send me a drink, his upset later is largely caused by the social stigma about men dating older women.
He was trying to act shocked at your age to flatter you -- not surprised you didn't know this. He knew you weren't "mid 30s" lol.
Well, I guess then he didn’t need to hit on me at the bar?
