Wow, Simone has a boot on for the prime time show interview.
She re injured it in warm ups for the floor, still did all that tumbling on it, and had a massive ice pack on the back of it by the time all the final scores were in. And that's after competing on it injured for the past few days. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if something got torn.
I hope Simone gets to sit on a beach somewhere with a mai tai and her husband for a few days after all this, before the tour begins. She deserves it!
Sounds like they are literally heading straight out on tour. In any case her DH is already in pre-season and had to get special permission to got to Paris to see her compete as it stands -- no way is he going to be able to take a few days off for a vacation right now. Their schedule at the moment is pretty insane and unlikely to let up until spring. Curious if Simone will do a full competition schedule next year. Nationals is in late spring and world's is in october. She should be able to rehab the leg during tour and get real time off this winter but will need to be in the gym pretty regularly by march if she wants to qualify and then go to nationals. She's been very noncommittal about her future and is in a pretty big juncture in terms of her career -- I am not sure there is a ton left for her to accomplish in non-Olympic meets and there is a strong argument in favor of taking at least a full year off and maybe two even if she wants to come back at 21 for the LA Olympics because of her age and risk of injury. Like not stop training altogether but not compete. I am really interested in what she'll do.
That’s age 31 for LA, PP! I would be gobsmacked if she doesn’t take next season off.
