UF is ranked #28 per latest USnews and #1 public university according to Wall Street Journal.  I know rankings can be wonky but the dcurban crowd seems obsessed with these things.[/quote]

The ranking is also apparent in how incredibly selective UF has become in the last fews years- this year in particular. I know of several NMF who got denied.  UF claims to be holistic.  [/quote]

DP - but people follow the rankings (especially those living in the DC area).  So the better the rankings, the more people apply - making the school more selective.  [/quote]
