Take a look at Baltimore city schools - that is where mcps is headed. Seems like a good time to open a new private school in moco. So many disgruntled teachers to hire as well.
Private schools can’t afford most of us.
Not true! I transferred to private and they offered me my exact salary. And conditions are far better. A lot of my new coworkers are former public school teachers, as well.
And your exact insurance plan and pension? I can’t leave due to those things, but I sure wish I could. MCPS is sinking and it makes me so sad. I truly loved teaching and now I would never advise anyone to go into it- but if they did, there is no way I’d recommend MCPS. I think you need smaller districts who are able to address issues as they come up. Equity for all is not working for anyone.
You mean smaller wealthy districts, because otherwise smaller districts absolutely don’t address things as they come up. Go ask the other MD districts struggling to implement Blueprint.
