Of course you’re surprised, you were just claiming those judges had nothing to do with the Mayor or the Council, when almost half of the members of the JNC are directly appointed by the Council and Mayor. The president appoints one member.

If you actually cared, you could check the judges on the courts and the recommendations of the JNC. EVERY SINGLE JUDGE on the DC Court of Appeals was first recommended by the JNC:

DC elected officials control 3 of 7 seats on the JNC. What point are you trying to make? Further, does the JNC actually even bind the POTUS? I find that hard to believe. [/quote]
