I do remember sometime in the 1990s, a district in Maryland - Prince George's, maybe? - was allowing transfers to a school, but only for white people, because of racial balance reasons. A lady was quoted as saying she went in, slammed her hands on the counter, and told them her baby was white. They said OK.[/quote]
