Based on the information provided, it looks like student didn't have as strong an academic record as classmates did. Rigor and coverage were missing. It's not a conspiracy against the Whites. This will teach the kid grit. Parent needs to learn to accept adversity and model resilient behavior rather than whining like a toddler and shouting about Whites being persecuted. my two cents . . .
You are kidding, right? Rigor? He took every AP class he could and got As. 12 of them. AP Spanish V, AP English, AP European History, AP US History, AP Physics C, AP Calc BC and more How could he have been better? He was basically a college sophomore when he showed up for college this past summer. 4.7 GPA, 1550, Eagle Scout, 3 sport athlete, basketball team captain, volunteer, orchestra, engineering intern. He is outstanding in every way. Maybe if we had spent $20k on a "elite" college prep councilor he would have gotten in, but we did not. He is doing well at VCCS and he will end up as an engineer. He has learned a great deal about adversity and how life is not fair. I hope parents look into VCCS, because it is a great deal. And college admissions offices are broken.
