The baby would be unburnt and would be extricated safely from Laena’s ashes.
In the book she died (not by fire) after giving birth to a horribly deformed child. I really wonder if they are playing down the fact that incest has consequences. Apparently Viserys and Daemon’s mother and father were also brother/sister as were their grandparents, plus a few generations before that, the original Aegon married both his sisters. Plus Laena and Daemon were cousins. That’s a pretty big ick factor for me.
No the Targs are allll about incest. They do it to keep the dragon riding ability strong and located only within their own house (See: the problem here with some of the Velaryons having their own dragons). Vicerys was married to his first cousin (Aemma, the woman who died via c-section). R&D eventually get together and have kids. Alicent marries her son Aegon to her daughter Helaena. Aegon’s daughter marries Rhaenyra’s son after the war and that’s how the Targaryen line continues down to Dany. They truly don’t care about incest, lol.
Aegon’s daughter marries Rhaenyra’s son after the war but that’s not the line Dany came from.
OMG I have stop reading this thread since some of you are determined to spoil the show for the rest of us!!!
Family tree - spoilers I guess: https://media1.popsugar-assets.com/files/thumbor/nnIiZblS5B7mQEqVchIHxmL9CTE/fit-in/2048xorig/filters:format_auto-!!-:strip_icc-!!-/2022/09/15/743/n/1922283/tmp_pXucCT_b4aa8406d2aeb6bb_POPSUGAR_House_of_Targaryen_Family_Tree.jpg
Wow - instead of having 4 sets of great-grandparents, Daenerys only has 1 set.
DP. NO SPOILERS PLEASE!
Did you read the title of this thread?
OP here. I did not write Spoilers in the title, although I expected them. Jeff must have added the SPOILERS because crybabies were sad they couldn't read the thread until they watched the most recent episode.
Wrong. I asked Jeff to add it after they wouldn’t delete the posts giving book spoilers. I am always current on all the episodes. People are spoiling from the books, telling people who will die, who will marry, etc. Its really $hurry of them but they don’t care. They just want to be know-it-alls. There should be a separate thread for those wanting to discuss the books, but it’s too late they’ve already spoiled the show.
Omg, the books have been out forever. If it was important to you, you would have read them already. Will you also be upset if I tell you that both Romeo and Juliet die in the end?
Lots of people want to just watch the show and not already know how it’s going to end. Surely a book lover like yourself can understand that. It ruins the experience. I would say just be considerate but that seems a foreign concept.
+1. It's one thing to point out how the book is similar or differs from the series AFTER an episode comes out, but to run down the entire plot of the book is kind of rude.
