No. But we do hire— or fire in 2023– the people who hire the Superintendent.  If she’s a mess, the Board gets voted out (which will probably happen anyway), we buy out her contract and we do this again.

Exactly.  The Open FCPS group (and whatever their new name is) is a very loud minority in Fairfax.  Most of us like books, librarians, teaching full history, and not stigmatizing groups of students.[/quote]

In other words open schools, academics, and sound oversight of how a $3.4B system spends its money don’t matter as long as we continue to mouth platitudes about “equity” (has the actual gap between Langley and Mount Vernon ever been wider) and celebrate librarians who make “Gender Queer” and “Lawn Boy” the Books of the Month.
