As a person who is interested in getting a dog, how would you recommend avoiding pit mixes? It’s really hard to tell with puppies, right? Rescue orgs obviously don’t know or care if their dogs are pit bull mix.
maybe there's a DNA test?
A mixed breed dog is just a dog. It isn't purposely bred for anything. It is random which traits it will inherit/express. It seems unnecessary to reject a mixed dog because it might or might not have some pitbull ancestry. If you want a guarantee, don't adopt from a rescue, they will not likely know parentage and certainly aren't doing genetic testing. You will have to get a pedigreed dog with known bloodlines. This will not guarantee a nice temperament, but, it will guarantee genetics.
