It seems like every time Cmdr Lawrence seems to be doing the right thing a page turns and he is shown to have ulterior motives or really just doesn’t care. Then another page turns and those ulterior motives weren’t what they seemed. He’s inscrutable. [/quote]

I think he’s playing the long game. I doubt he suggested the bombing, but couldn’t figure out a way to talk them out of it without at a minimum making them suspicious or, worse, tipping his hand. He had to play the odds - and, based on her life so far, the odds favor June as having the instincts necessary to survive. He did the best he could - get them to agree to the cease fire. How she survived to get to that point was up to her.

Same with cutting the deal with Lydia. If all went well, June would never be captured. It was a long term risk for a short term substantial gain. He needed to cut that deal. Also, his statement about ‘setting out country back on track’ seemed to clearly indicate he was playing Lydia bc they were fighting for two different countries.

I will also be p’d off if they kill Janine.
