I so badly wish this would happen but you KNOW that the gun-toting don't tread on me type people will go out en masse and be like THE GUV'MINT CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO and ruin everything. While the rest of us stay inside endlessly while no progress is made. So what's the point.
well, in Spain, France and Italy those people were arrested and taken to jail end of as*hole behavior
And yet in Spain infections are creeping back up again. So much for the illusion that these countries “crushed” the virus.
Right. So WHY do we think a complete shutdown in a country much larger no less, would actually do the trick? Why can't we accept that this is a part of our reality right now? Why do we feel the need to funnel inordinate amounts of resources - while simultaneously making it so that our resource pool (i.e. the economy) dwindles - into "fighting" something that will likely be with us for a while? Ww just need to adapt. If you are at risk, mitigate your risk. If you aren't "at risk", practice good hygiene and health. Also, if you are at risk because of co-morbidities that you created by too many trips to McDonalds and too many Big Gulps, then either get your lifestyle under control or take your chances. Why is this so hard to comprehend?
Because people who aren’t personally at risk can’t seem to comprehend that their actions still contribute to the spread of a serious pandemic. (And if you get into a car accident, you’d probably like to be treated in a hospital that isn’t overflowing.)
Right. So let this thing burn through. If you are at risk: mitigate that risk. If you aren't a complete idiot: good health, hygiene, and mitigate your risk. If you ARE a complete idiot: well, the rest of us will be sitting here hoping your gene pool gets chlorinated. No lie. You can't fix or save stupid, nor should you. That's part of our problem, in the first place. We think we have to fix or save everyone. Look to nature, folks - not every specimen of every species survives.
