She apologized. She admitted she was in the wrong and her statements were unacceptable. Have Tawana Brawley or Crystal Magnum apologized for their nonsense or is only "Karens" who need to do so?
Her apology was BS. First, it starts off with “I’m not racist” when clearly she is. Second, she says she didn’t mean to harm the man or the African American community. This also is clearly a lie. By weaponizing her white fragility, she endangered every Black man in the park that day. The inability for her or others to see this is due to the racism and privilege that is so prevalent in this country. Finally, it is not just the Karen’s that need to apologize. Our entire social fabric needs to change. All systems and institutions need to recognize and acknowledge the part they have played in creating an environment for this type of behavior to thrive. For the last several years we have seen video after video of police encounters and people still wanted to say it’s just a few bad apples. Now we are seeing more and more citizen interactions and again y’all are quick to accept an apology and move in. Where do you think she learned this behavior? It is everywhere and in everything.
Good point and very overlooked by many. When cops arrived both parties were gone - but what if she'd stayed and continued her faux panic/fear for her life routine? How many black guys in Central Park would have been harassed by police?
